At CASSA, Occupational Health and Safety is Everyone's Commitment
Our priority is clear: we want you safe: from CASSA to home. That's why Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is not just a set of standards, it is a culture embedded in our operations, and we live it every day at the mills and in the fields.
What is OHS?
It's a set of policies, practices, and standards that aim to ensure safe, healthy and decent working conditions for all of our collaborators. With this strategy, we aim to:
✅ Prevent on-the-job accidents
✅ Prevent occupational illnesses
✅ Promote physical, mental, and social well-being
How do we do this?
We have a robust and committed team: estructura sólida y comprometida:
- 1 Occupational Health and Safety Manager
- 1 Head of Occupational Health and Safety
- 1 OHS Officer in the agriculture area
- 2 OHS Analysts (CI & CHP)
- 2 Physicians (CI & CHP)
- 2 Nurses (CI & CHP)
In addition, we’ve strengthened our system with support teams, such as these:
👷♀️ Emergency Response Teams:
- 55 members at Ingenio Chaparrastique
- 85 members at Central Izalco
🤝 Occupational Health and Safety Committees:
- 10 members at Chaparrastique
- 6 members at COAGRI
- 12 members at Central Izalco
Because your life and wellbeing come first
Our commitment goes beyond legal compliance. Our aim is a culture where every collaborator plays an active role in self-care, prevention, and ongoing improvement. We do this through:
- Ongoing training
- Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Emergency and evacuation plans
- Risk identification and assessment
- Health surveillance
- Incident investigation
Every action counts. And every step we take together brings us closer to a work environment that is safer, more humane, and more sustainable.
💙 At CASSA Group, safety is not up for debate.
It is lived. It is protected. It is promoted.
