Production activity at the mills takes place in two moments that characterize the sugar cane agroindustry: Sugar Harvest and Maintenance Periods. This takes place during the months of November through April, which is the Dry season, when sugar cane is harvested in the fields, and processed in the mill. This takes place during the months of May through October, which is the Rainy Season, when farmers are occupied with planting new areas, and renewing old plantations, in addition to maintenance and care ensuring optimum conditions for raising sugar cane. Meanwhile, at the mill, this time is used for dismantling and repairing machinery, as well as making general improvements around the factory in preparation for the following milling period.
